Giving Back
Wanting to continue to help newcomers, or our fresh recruits, survivors of the war do a number of things that range from raising awareness, donating money, or simply putting in time and volunteering at a hospital. We can lend an ear and let others know that no matter how miserable they feel, how disconnected they think they are to the real world, their family, and their outside lives, we can let newly diagnosed patients know they aren't alone. We can let them know that somewhere, at some point, someone has been in their place before -- that we've been in their place before -- and that we've managed to come out stronger because of it.
